Senior staff at Hinchingbrooke Hospital presented prizes to the winners of Sawtry Village Academy’s Art Competition in the Garden Restaurant within the hospital. The theme of the competition was food and the restaurant exhibited the artwork throughout April with patients, staff and visitors voting for their favourite artwork from the many entrants. The competition was sponsored by NADFAS (National Association of Decorative and Fine Art Societies) and the prizes of £20 gift vouchers and £10 cinema gift cards were awarded to the winners of the various categories by Jill Challinor (Nadfas) and Caroline Walker (Deputy Chief Executive of NW Anglia NHS Foundation Trust). Winners were Jonathan Alderman in Painting, Jasmine Wade in Drawing and Matilda McEwan in Photography who also won Overall Winner and an extra £30 Colemans Voucher. Head of Art and Photography Kevin Terry commented ‘In the present school climate where there is a lot of pressure on Creative subjects it was very pleasing to see such an overwhelming interest from students. The quality of artwork was outstanding and thank you to Hinchingbrooke Garden Restaurant staff for hosting the exhibition and for NADFAS for their financial support.’
