Sawtry Village Academy Art Exhibition 2016.

The Sawtry Village Academy Art Exhibition has now become an annual showcase of the tremendous artwork produced by our students studying GCSE, AS and A Level Art. Parents, friends and family enjoyed the evening perusing at their leisure the wonderful range of work on show.

The standard this year is the highest ever with many pieces demonstrating a technical content that would equal the expertise of work done by more mature artists. Some students have produced work that goes well beyond the expectations of that level

The exhibition was free and open to parents, friends and members of the public on Wednesday 29th June from 5pm to 7pm. This year there was also a presentation of awards for outstanding performance in Art. Local artist Tony Nero, Norman Cross Gallery owner Derek Lopez, Freelance curator/ artist Michaela D’Agati, NADFAS representative Ros Neugebauer and Artist Francis Reynolds shared their support for Art with inspirational talks and then presented certificates and awards to a number students. Certificates received included from the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Academy.
