Art students pick up awards at prestigious county Art competition.

Sawtry art students were among the winners announced at the highly prestigious ASHYAC Art Competition, supported by the Arts Society. Hundreds of students and family members flocked to the exhibition at St Ivo School on Saturday to admire the impressive work on display and to hear the announcement of the winners and those who were Highly Commended (runners-up).

Each school was permitted to exhibit a maximum of three pieces of artwork per year group, ranging from Reception through to Year 13 (Sixth Form).

The winners from Sawtry included Year 9 student V Pyriih and Year 8 students B Hitz and M Swift. Students receiving Highly Commended awards included Year 13 student S-R Hall and Year 7 student I Brattan.
