Our historical progress data at Sixth Form is extremely positive and we are very proud of the progress our students are able to achieve with us. In ALPS QI, 1 represents the highest score for progress.

Sixth Form students at Sawtry Village Academy perform exceptionally in their A-level exams
Celebrations are underway at Sawtry Village Academy, part of Meridian Trust, as students, staff and families gather to mark A-level results day.
Simon Parsons, Principal of Sawtry Village Academy, said: “I am delighted for our Sixth Form students today as they collect their brilliant results. We have seen them overcome challenges, embrace opportunities and grow in confidence these past two years, and it has been a pleasure to be part of their journey.”
Among the academy’s top performers are:
Robert Kennedy, who achieved History A, Maths A, Physics A and will progress to joining the Navy as a Petty Officer in Air Engineering.
Kiera Thompson, who achieved Biology A, Chemistry A, Geography A and will progress to University of Manchester to study Dentistry.
Sofie Turner, who achieved Distinction* Media, Distinction* Health & Social Care, A Psychology and will progress to Anglia Ruskin University to study Criminology.
Ellie Frost, who achieved Art A*, Psychology A, Biology B, Extended Project Qualification A and will progress to King’s College London to study Psychology.
Max Mulcrone, who achieved History A, Maths A, Physics A and will progress to University of Manchester to study Economics and Politics.
Jessica Gadsby, who achieved Distinction* Media, Distinction Health & Social Care, B Psychology and will progress to York St. John University to study Psychology with Child Development.
Sarah-Renae Hall, who achieved Distinction* Media, A* Art, Photography B, Extended Project Qualification B and will progress to University of Nottingham to study International Media and Communication Studies.
Simon added: “Today is much more than grades, it’s about recognising the commitment and resilience of the Year 13 cohort. Each student has given their all and should feel proud of the progress they have made. We wish them every success as they take their next steps, whether that be university, apprenticeships or employment.”

Alps (Advanced Level Performance System) is the result of over 30 years of careful research and development, initially at Greenhead College, Huddersfield, by Dr Kevin Conway CBE, the Principal, and over the last sixteen years at Alps.
Each Alps indicator has a benchmark thermometer. The thermometer is created by taking scores achieved by every school and college included in that indicator and ranking these from best (top) to worst (bottom). Scores at key percentiles are then used to benchmark your performance. Each percentile is also given an Alps grade. The numbers running down the centre of the thermometers show how Alps grades are identified for this indicator. These run from 1 (best) to 9 (worst). The grades are related exactly to the percentiles as shown.
