The Sixth Form Team

Every Sixth Form student belongs to Oak House and a Sixth Form tutor group. Their tutor will support them through both Year 12 and 13 and will be responsible for helping them make choices about their future. If students want to apply to university, an apprenticeship or employment, their tutor will work with them on the application and will write their reference. Students also benefit from an experienced Post-16 Advisor, Hayley, who is based in the Sixth Form office. She will always be on hand to support students and will mentor those requiring a little help. Bramble, the Sixth Form support dog, is always happy to say hello to Sixth Formers and loves nothing more than a pat and belly rub from the students. See him feature in the Meridian Trust Support Dogs video here

One of our students, Amy, said: “I believe that the student support is the foundation for a brilliant Sixth Form, and through staff’s honesty and enthusiasm, students are encouraged to persist”.

Another, Ben, added, “starting at Sixth Form can be quite daunting, but I quickly settled in: there’s so much help available from Hayley in the Sixth Form office to your form tutor. Academic support is always available if you need it, and your teachers are always available to give you help”.

Please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the team should you have any questions or concerns.
