Artist of the Month – November

Celebrating Outstanding Year 9 Creativity

This month, we are thrilled to recognise Indi S in Year 9, whose artwork has truly stood out for its remarkable skill and creative vision. Her pieces demonstrate not only strong technical ability but also a growing artistic confidence that is wonderful to see. Each artwork fills the page with purpose, showing a clear understanding of composition and an exceptional command of blended oil pastel techniques.

Vibrant Portraiture With a Modern Twist

Indi’s striking self-portrait is bold, colourful, and refreshingly modern. She uses high-saturation hues—neon yellows, electric blues, vivid greens, and warm reds—to sculpt the face, creating a glowing, almost heat-map effect. This imaginative approach transforms a realistic subject into something expressive and contemporary, revealing her confidence in experimenting with colour and style.

Landscapes & Still Life Pastiche in Oil Pastels

Two additional works highlight Indi’s ability to create atmosphere through colour and light. The sweeping landscape captures a radiant sunset over fields and water, using rich, layered tones to build depth and warmth. Her close-up pastiche of a Cézanne still life shows careful observation and thoughtful blending, demonstrating her ability to study and interpret the techniques of influential artists.

Why This Artist Stands Out

Indi’s artwork reflects dedication, creativity, and a developing mastery of tone, shading, and composition. Her portfolio shows a genuine passion for art and an emerging personal style that is exciting to watch grow.

A huge congratulations to our Artist of the Month for November. Indi, we are incredibly proud of your achievements, and we can’t wait to see what you create next!
